The stomach is one of the more difficult places to remove cellulite. This is due to the fact that it is an area that is easy to accumulate excess fat and where exercises have very little effect.

The best treatments for stomach cellulite are cream, massage and body wraps. However, being the most difficult type of cellulite to remove, it will take a large amount of long-term commitment to get the best results.

Why Exercise Is Not The Most Effective Method

The best exercise for cellulite treatment utilizes both cardio to reduce body fat and strength training to increase lean muscle mass. This restores the balance between fat and muscle; and ensures that there is enough muscle to support the remaining fat layer and prevent it from clumping together and cellulite appearing.

However, in the stomach area it is very difficult to reduce fat and increase muscle. Clinical trials have shown that an exercise program that balances both cardio and weight bearing exercise can significantly reduce cellulite when performed over 8 weeks. Lean muscle gives the legs a smooth and firm look by tightening the skin and supporting the natural subcutaneous fat layer that cannot be removed by cardio exercise. A cheap, quick and easy way to reduce cellulite is dry body brushing. We often use body brushes and loofas while in the shower but cellulite body brushing refers to using an ordinary body brush when it is dry. When you dry brush your skin regularly it increases the circulation of blood to the surface of the skin and helps to eliminate dead skin cells. This leads to a softer and smoother appearance.

You can use a normal body brush which consists of firm bristles that are intended for use directly on the skin. Alternatively, you can purchase a specific cellulite scrubber. It is generally recommended that you brush daily before you shower. If you prefer, you can also apply with the brush a few drops of aromatherapy or hydrating body oil.

Steps for Cellulite Skin Brushing

1.    Choose a Brush
Generally, it is recommended that you buy a cellulite scrubber that is purpose built for cellulite treatment. However, you can also use a normal body brush, loofa or dry wash cloth. If you opt for the body brush then choose one that has natural and bristled fibres. These are the most comfortable to use.

2.    Commit to Once Per Day
Dry brush at least once per day. It is best to do this before you have a shower as it will help cleanse the skin and remove toxins that are drawn out from the skin from the brushing.

3.    Use Correct Technique
Body brushing for cellulite removal is not just about dry brushing the areas that are afflicted by cellulite. You should brush in such a way that blood flow is increased across the entire body. This will maximize circulation and the removal of toxins from your system.

You should use enough pressure to get the blood flowing but not enough to bruise or scratch the skin. Use the diagram to the left as a guide. Start with your feet and make your way up towards your heart. Use circles as you move over the body and across your arms.  Try to brush your back if you can.

Once you have done a full body brush, go back to your areas affected by cellulite and re-brush them for several minutes.

Body brushing will require about 5 months before you see maximum results. While brushing is great for mild or even moderate cellulite, most women usually use it as a combination of cellulite treatments and don’t rely on it alone.

One of the most common places that cellulite occurs is on the thighs. This is an awkward location because it can prevent you from wearing shorts, short skirts or swimsuits. The techniques that you use to get rid of cellulite on thighs are the same for other locations on the body. However, there are some minor variations that can make these treatments a little bit more effective for thigh cellulite.

Cellulite Cream

Anti cellulite cream is an effective way to reduce thigh cellulite. Just be aware that there are some lotions out there that are marketed as specifically working on leg and thigh cellulite. However, the fact is that these products have the same ingredients as every other cellulite cream and work in the exactly same way. It is simply too difficult to conduct the massage in such a difficult spot for any length of time. A cellulite massager will speed up the process and save your fingers and hands from cramping.

Exercises to Get Rid of Thigh Cellulite

An exercise program that combines both cardio and strength bearing exercise has been shown scientifically to reduce cellulite over an 8 week period. Solely focusing on cardio will reduce your fat levels but will do very little to build and tone the thighs. For this, you need to have a major resistance training component that will build the lean muscle mass in your thighs.

The reason why you want to build lean muscle is that it gives the thighs a smooth, shapely and firm look. It also provides a firm support base for the thin layer of fat where cellulite occurs and which cannot be removed even with the most intense cardio. Thigh exercises that are excellent for cellulite are squats, lunges, leg raises and the leg press machine.

Of course, not every woman likes to lift weights. Resistance exercises that are excellent alternatives to training with weights are Pilates or dance moves like Zumba.
